Teachers for Peace believe that while they teach various subjects in their classes, they prioritize students’ discipline. Teaching is not just a profession, but a way of an ethical lifestyle that shapes students into noble human beings with self and social awareness. Teachers’ concern for students and society instills a sense of responsibility in themselves and in helping students to become better individuals.
These teachers don’t accept the common criticism that students lack discipline. Instead, they work within their limits to sow seeds of change, helping students build a life of peace. They inspire students to bloom like lotus flowers in muddy waters, overcoming adversity and learning the art of conflict resolution for Peace based on self-restraint and self-reliance without blaming and complaining.
The Chennai based Gandhi Peace Foundation wants to compile and publish these teachers’ experiences. Teachers are invited to share their stories (in English or Tamil, within 300 words) about a remarkable experience that showcases their approach to teaching peace and mentoring.
The deadline for submissions is July 7, and the book is scheduled to be released on August 11, 2025. For more information, contact 9962860350 (Only WhatsApp) or gpfchennai@gmail.com.
This initiative aims to highlight the impact of dedicated teachers on students’ lives and society.
