The session began with Ms. Indhumathi revising the six rules. She emphasized the importance of the school period in shaping life, encouraging everyone to be kind, avoid ignorance, cooperate with classmates, practice impartiality, and enjoy this time of learning. She also highlighted how attentive listening fosters focused learning, explaining that if students listen with concentration during lessons, they may not need extensive study at home.
Ms. Indhumathi then began explaining Mahatma Gandhi’s 11 vows and engaged the students in a discussion on India’s journey to independence, asking, “How did we gain freedom?” She explained that while the British controlled India with weapons, Mahatma Gandhi led people to adopt a simple lifestyle and resist through non-violence. She emphasized that while violence may cause physical harm, it cannot touch the eternal soul.
Ms. Sridevi spoke about the removal of untouchability, the importance of respecting others, reverence for all religions, and control of the palate. She concluded by explaining how Brahmacharya leads to finding God.
