On the special occasion of K. Kamarajar’s Birthday, the Gandhi Peace Foundation, Madras conducted a One-hour Peace Education Session for 74 students at Sri Ramakrishna Primary School, Sivagangai.
The session was arranged through the kind initiative of Mr. Anantharaman (Retd. IOB Manager), whose support made this programme possible.
The session began with an interactive discussion on the importance of peace in everyday life. Students enthusiastically participated in conversations on how peace begins with each individual. Dr. S. Kulandaisamy narrated inspiring stories that encouraged self-awareness, reflection, and personal responsibility. The storytelling approach kept the students deeply engaged and encouraged active participation throughout the session.
Ms. Indhumathi introduced the Six Peace Rules, explaining how these simple principles can help students develop peaceful habits, respectful communication, and responsible behaviour in their daily lives. Students actively shared their thoughts and experiences, making the session lively and meaningful.
As part of the programme, each student received the Peace Club Handbook and the “Gandhian Lifestyle for a Peaceful World” poster to reinforce the concepts discussed during the session.
The programme, conducted in celebration of Kamarajar’s Birthday, inspired students to cultivate self-awareness, inner peace, and the practice of Gandhian values in their everyday lives.
