Mrs. Indhumathi started the session by narrating the story of Rasigan, which highlights the true heroes in our lives. The story revolves around a movie manual scavengers, where the actors wore makeup and pretended to work. However, in reality, it was a fan of the actor whose father, a real scavenger, did the actual work of cleaning waste from ditches. Santhan, the character in the story, helped the students realize that parents are the real heroes in everyone’s life.
Mr.S.K.taught the students a simple game by which they could learn the essential values that one must learn to live together in this world, in the home, in the classroom etc.
A pair of students should hold a chalk between their forefingers and walk. Using both hands, adding more students and form a circle, should walk. No chalk should fall and break.
After the exercise, the students were asked to share their experiences and how they were trying to coordinate:
1. Fear of losing the chalk and joy of the game. 2. Showing unity 3. Concentration 4. Forget enmity with my partner 5. Self control 6. Faith in the group 7. Team spirit etc.
Mrs.Sridevi told a story relating to Globalization. Shanthan takes his classmates to a village, Panaiyur, full of Palm (Panai maram) trees.
Globalization may link all the countries to empower the villages and nourish local plants like Palm but not to exploit and destroy.
Students got an awareness of how to revere one’s local resources. Since most of them are from villages, they were fully aware of the use of palm trees.
