Peace Clubs in Schools

Gandhi Peace Foundation (GPF), Madras, successfully completed the ‘Peace Clubs in Schools’ project in Avvai Home Girls Hr.Sec.School, Adyar, Chennai-20 for the academic year 2025–2026. 60 students of classes 6 & 7 were members of the Peace Club. Separate sessions were conducted for classes 6 & 7.

The valedictory function was held on 26th February 2026  with great enthusiasm and participation. The programme showcased impressive presentations by students, guided and supported by their class teacher Mrs.Thenmozhi.

The event began with a prayer song followed by skits, story telling followed by songs, and presentation of the Six Rules for Peace. 

Dr.V.R.Devika, Author, Educationist & Cultural Activist spoke highlighting the values the students have to follow, citing life examples from Dr.Muthulakshmi Reddi and Mahatma Gandhi and awarded the certificates.

Students shared what they learnt in the twenty five sessions of the Club followed by Teachers giving wonderful feedback.

Mrs.Indhumathi gave a report on the content and methodology of the Peace clubs and appreciated the involvement of the teachers.

Dr.S.Kulandaisamy appreciated the students for their creativity and the interest they showed in all the sessions conducted in 25 weeks and thanked the teachers for their cooperation .
